How To Stay Motivated During The Holidays

October 14, 2017

We all know the holidays are a very happy time filled with more food temptation than usual. In order to be successful while following a workout or diet regime you have to have balance, self discipline and control. Why not take a healthier approach to the holidays and beyond? Most people say its hard for them to eat healthy because they don’t want to give up their favorite foods. Im here to tell you that you DO NOT have to stop eating your favorite foods. If you stop eating your favorite foods how will that be a long term change? That depriving. The main reason why people fail while “dieting” is because they deprive themselves of the foods they enjoy. As cliche as it sounds you can eat anything & everything in moderation. You want this to be a lifestyle change right? Do not deprive yourself. Instead I will share with you a couple tips on how to successfully stay motivated and on track during the holidays.

  1. Control your portions. Especially during the holidays, know that you’ll have more opportunities to eat festive snacks & desserts. Just eat small portions.

  1. Eat when you’re hungry! Just because the clock says its noon or your co-workers are sitting down for

lunch, listen to your body and wait until you are hungry. (but don’t wait too long because you don’t want to starve and over eat.)

3.PLAN. Prepare meals and snacks to have with you throughout the day. Planning helps in so many ways. No missed meals, no stopping and making mistakes, no random cravings, everything is with you.

  1. Pay attention. Do not eat in front of a TV or screen, talking on the phone or while standing in the kitchen.

when you do this our more likely to lose track of what you’ve eaten.

  1. Take advantage of technology and smart phones!Track your food. Sounds tedious but if you want results its worth going the extra mile to track.

  1. WATER WATER WATER. Most people should drink a gallon of water per day. Not only does it flush toxins out of your body but it speeds up your metabolism. There are so many benefits to drinking water.

  1. REMEMBER we are all human, we all love our snacks/ pizza/ momas chocolate chip cookies. There is nothing wrong with that. Just become aware of what you re putting in your body at all times.

If you car says it takes 92 and you put 89 in it, how would it preform? Your body is the same way. You need to fuel it with proper food for it to preform to its highest potential.
